Andrew Cuomo, after being subpoenaed last month, has agreed to testify to Congress about his controversial nursing home advisory from the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic, Rep. Brad Wenstrup told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Friday. Cuomo has insisted that advisory was consistent with guidance from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. However, his upcoming appearance before lawmakers is a sign of continuing scrutiny over his handling of long-term care facilities during the pandemic. The voluntary agreement means that Cuomo will participate with a transcribed interview rather than a deposition. Wenstrup told Tapper on Friday that the panel will also hear from Cuomo’s former secretary Melissa DeRosa and former commissioner of the New York State Department of Health Dr. Howard Zucker.

Andrew Cuomo subjected at least 13 women to a "sexually hostile work environment" while he was in office, the Department of Justice said Friday as part of an agreement with the state's current executive office. Cuomo's office instead worked to protect the then-governor from further accusations — and his senior staff retaliated against four of the women he harassed, the DOJ said. Cuomo attorney Rita Glavin in a statement to CNBC said the former governor "did not sexually harass anyone." That report, released Aug. 3, 2021, found that Cuomo sexually harassed at least 11 women and retaliated against at least one former employee who came forward to accuse him. The DOJ said the agreement with the State of New York Executive Chamber, currently led by Gov.

CNN —The Justice Department concluded Friday that former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed state employees, supporting the findings of a previous state civil review of allegations against the former governor. The department reached an agreement with the New York State Executive Chamber resolving the claims of sexual harassment and retaliation against the Democratic former governor, according to a release from the Justice Department on Friday. “Governor Cuomo repeatedly subjected these female employees to unwelcome, non-consensual sexual contact; ogling; unwelcome sexual comments; gender-based nicknames; comments on their physical appearances; and/or preferential treatment based on their physical appearances,” the Justice Department found. In August 2021, the New York attorney general’s office found that Cuomo had sexually harassed 11 women and created a “hostile” work environment for women.

DeRosa said Cuomo “could not stomach” how state government was being run after his resignation. DeRosa is particularly critical of state Attorney General Letitia James, the Democrat who released a report, crafted by outside lawyers, which concluded Cuomo had sexually harassed 11 women. According to DeRosa:— Former CNN President Jeff Zucker and his longtime aide Allison Gollust pressured Cuomo to appear on his younger brother Chris’s primetime show. Kushner responded that Florida was open and that the death rate there was lower at the time “even without the shutdowns. She agreed to go, DeRosa said, provided they find her a job in the federal government, preferably as ambassador to Canada.
